For those who have been following this or are interested in checking it out. RIFT announced their CBT this past week.

RIFT BETA FAQ

I just picked up some important informaion for you guys:

1. When does beta start?

The first RIFT beta event begins Dec. 3rd, 2010 at 18:00 GMT and ends on Dec 6th. Later there will be more beta events. Beta Schedule here.

2. IP block? No!

Do the beta codes work for international players?

Yes. Beta codes can be applied to your account regardless of where you live.

3. Where to get beta key?

There will be two kinds of beta keys.
One is Beta Invite Key, which will give you a much better chance of being selected for beta events.

The other one is VIP Beta Key. VIP Beta Keys grant you access to ALL beta events. We MMOsite just finished the Access Beta Key event and those keys will be given out in a week. Keep an eye on MMOsite and maybe later there will be more keys coming.

What's more, Trion will be giving away VIP Beta Keys daily at our Facebook and Twitter sites, as well as our forums. Many of our Beta Partners are also giving away VIP Beta Keys at their social media sites and via special events.

4. Where to download RIFT ?

Once you’ve been invited to a RIFT beta event, you must log in to your Trion Worlds account and agree to the Terms of Use, License, and Non-Disclosure Agreement (EULA). After accepting the EULA, a link to download the RIFT patcher will be available in your account. You will also receive instructions via email.

I grabbed my key from http://www.curse.com/keys/rift/default.aspx . They require you to make an account, however, you do not need to 'activate' it before you can get your key. Just sign up and grab it.
